Siding Painting in Bloomington-Normal

Peeling, faded, or chalky siding doesn't just look tired. It's leaving the wood underneath unprotected. We strip back what's failing, repair what's damaged, and repaint so it lasts.

What a real siding job looks like

On this house, the old paint was failing down to bare wood across whole walls. Painting over that would have peeled again within a season or two. So we:

  1. Scraped and sanded every loose area down to a sound surface.
  2. Replaced rotted siding and trim instead of painting over it.
  3. Primed bare wood and caulked open seams against water.
  4. Applied quality exterior paint in the new color, with crisp white trim.

Painting vinyl siding

Faded vinyl can be painted, but color choice matters: going much darker than the original can make vinyl absorb heat and warp. We use vinyl-safe paint formulations and help you pick colors that are safe for your siding.

FAQ

Siding painting questions

How do I know if my siding needs paint?

Peeling, cracking, chalky residue when you rub it, faded color, or bare wood showing are all signs. The sooner bare wood gets protected, the less repair it needs.

Is it better to paint or replace siding?

If the siding is structurally sound, painting is usually far less expensive. We'll tell you honestly if sections are too far gone. We can replace those pieces and paint the rest.

Do you power wash before painting?

Cleaning is part of proper prep. See our power washing page for how we handle it.
